Simple File Convert
PHOTO & VIDEO FORMAT GUIDE

When iPhone photos and videos
won’t open on your PC

An iPhone photo that will not open on Windows may be a HEIC image. A video that will not play or import may use MOV or a codec your app does not support. Converting photos to JPG and videos to MP4 can make them easier to use across devices.

Convert HEIC photos to JPG

  1. Move the original iPhone photos to your computer using a cable, iCloud, or another method.
  2. Open the photo converter and select HEIC or HEIF files. You can select up to five photos at a time.
  3. Choose JPG for everyday use, or PNG if you specifically need PNG.
  4. Start conversion, then select Save beside each converted photo.

The original is not changed or deleted. The converted file is saved separately. Date and location metadata may not be preserved, so keep the original if you need it.

Convert HEIC photos

Convert iPhone MOV videos to MP4

  1. Move the video to your computer using a cable, iCloud, or another method.
  2. In the video converter, select one MOV, M4V, or MP4 file up to 500 MB.
  3. Start conversion and select Save MP4 when it finishes.

Conversion runs in your browser; the video file is not sent to this site. The first conversion loads a video processing tool of about 31 MB. Speed depends on your device and video length. A file below the size limit can still fail if your device runs short of memory.

The output is an MP4 using H.264 video and AAC audio. Keep the original video and leave the browser page open while conversion runs.

Convert a video

Convert up to five photos at once

Select up to five photos at a time. When conversion is complete, use the Save button for each photo to download them individually. You can adjust JPG quality and photo dimensions, and choose a smaller output size for video.

Which format should you choose: JPG or PNG?

JPG

Useful for sharing, documents, and broad compatibility. JPG files are often smaller than PNG, and you can adjust quality.

PNG

Choose PNG when you want to avoid lossy image compression. Photo files may be larger than JPG.

Troubleshooting

The photo picker closes on my iPhone

Open this site directly in Safari or Chrome, then choose your photo library or Files. Some in-app browsers cannot return files from the iOS picker reliably.

My photo is missing from the picker

Choose Photos or Files and check that the image is saved on the device or available from iCloud. This tool accepts HEIC, HEIF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WEBP photos.

Where are downloads saved on iPhone?

After tapping Save, check the Downloads folder in the Files app. Safari also shows active downloads from its download control.

Will the converter change my original?

No. It creates a separate converted file. Keep a copy of the original, especially if you need its date or location metadata.

Why did a video under 500 MB fail?

Video conversion needs substantial memory and processing power. Close other tabs, try a shorter video, or use the Reduce file size option. The size limit does not guarantee every device can process every video.

Does the site upload my photos or videos?

No. The file conversion itself runs in your browser. When you use your device’s sharing feature, the file is sent to the app or service you choose.
